MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- Leicester City defender and captain Wes Morgan has been ruled out of Jamaica's squad for the 2014 CFU Caribbean Cup, which kicked off in Montego Bay on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old, who played for his club on the weekend, was advised to rest in recovering from a foot injury he has been nursing for a while.

His spot in head coach Winfried Schaefer's squad is expected to be taken by Waterhouse's Upston Edwards.

"We will miss Wes Morgan as he is our leader," said the German coach after a training session at Half Moon Hotel Tuesday.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Duwayne Kerr, defenders Nyron Nosworthy, Jermaine Taylor, Demar Phillips and Alvas Powell, plus midfielders Rodolph Austin, Jobi McAnuff and Je-Vaughn have been named to start Jamaica's Group B match against Martinique at the Montego Bay Sports Complex tonight.

Completing the 4-3-3 formation is strikers Darren Mattocks, Deshorn Brown and Dane Richards.
