Whyte takes World Challenge 400m in Zagreb

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jamaica’s Rosemarie Whyte exhibited fine end of season form to take the women’s 400m at the IAAF World Challenge meet in Zagreb today.
Whyte ran 50.08 to set a meet record and beat hometown favourite, Czech Denisa Rosolova into a distant second with 52.07. Great Britain’s Marilyn Okoro was third in 52.65.
Veteran sprinter Aleen Bailey (11.32) took third in the women’s 100m which was won by Olympic triple medalist Carmelita Jeter in 11.07. The American finished ahead of her country woman Jeneba Tarmoh, who took the runner-up spot in 11.30.
