Young Boyz to host U-20 CFU qualifiers

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Jamaica will host the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men's Under-20 Final Qualifiers from November 3 -11.

Jamaica's next generation Reggae Boyz will take their own battle for World Cup representation one step further when they join seven other teams in the final qualification round at this level.

The eight teams will participate in two groups with the top two on points from each group as well as the best third place team overall qualifying for the 12-team CONCACAF Finals to be played in Mexico next February.

Teams will begin arriving into the island on November 3.

Jamaica's squad has a number of players from the Jamaican Under-17 team which qualified for the 2011 FIFA Under-17 Men's World Cup.

The Federation is making a public appeal for sponsorship of this tournament and the Jamaican team itself. The Federation is confident that the playing experience locally as well the international experience gained last year by many of the players in the squad will present to the nation an inspiring performance from Jamaica.

Jamaica has already qualified for the CONCACAF Qualifying stage of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be played next April in Panama.
