Ardenne hunt schoolboy basketball double today

Friday, February 22, 2013

ARDENNE High will be on the hunt for the double as they will be involved in the Under-16 and Under-19 finals of the 2013 KFC/ISSA National High School Play-off Basketball Championship today at the National Stadium Basketball Courts.

The Basil Barrett-coached Ardenne Under-16 team will first meet Old Harbour High at 2:00 pm, while the Ardenne Under-19 team battle Manchester High two hours later.

Prior to the start of both finals, Kingston College go up against Glenmuir High and Kingston College take on Holland High in the Under-16 and Under-19 in third-place play-off matches, respectively.

Coach Barrett is expected to go for title number two as Ardenne had already captured the Southern Basketball Conference Under-16 title when they defeated Kingston College in the final recently.

Old Harbour, coached by pastor Ricardo Edwards, would also like to finish the season on a winning note by capturing his second title. Old Harbour had earlier won the Northern Basketball Conference Under-16 title.

Following the games, presentation of trophies and medals will be presented to the top-three teams.
