KC, Ardenne lock horns in basketball semi-finals

DEFENDING champions Kingston College (KC) will take on Ardenne High as the 2012-2013 KFC/ISSA National High Schoolboys Basketball Championships continues this afternoon with the semi-final action at the National Stadium Basketball Courts, beginning at 6:00 pm.

The KC and Ardenne game is an Under-19 knockout semi-final with

the winner advancing to Friday's final.

KC finished second in the Urban league after being beaten by Hydel High, with the latter eliminated

from the competition for failure to reproduce their identification cards prior

to a game. Ardenne

finished third.

Meanwhile, the other Under-19 knockout semi-final will also be played today between Manchester High from the Central Conference and Holland High from Western Conference at Manchester High School. Game time is 3:00 pm.

Action in the Under-16 semi-finals will see Urban champions Ardenne facing Glenmuir at 2:00 pm, and Urban runners-up KC going up against Northern Conference champions Old Harbour High at 4:00 at the National Stadium Courts.

Both finals and third-

place play-offs in the Under-16 and Under-19

will be played Friday at the National Stadium.

In the preliminary rounds of the National Play-off Championship, Ardenne topped Zone One; Kingston College emerged winners of Zone Two; Old Harbour High won Zone Three and Glenmuir topped Zone Four.

Results of matches played in the Under-16: Kingston College defeated Muschett High 68-47 points; Old Harbour beat Manchester High 51-45 points; St Jago High beat Herbert

Morrison High 49-42 points, while Old Harbour gained a walk over St George's College and Ardenne and Glenmuir gaining walk-

over against Dinthill Technical High and Herbert Morrison respectively.

In Under-19 preliminary matches: Kingston College whipped Muschett High 70-45 points; Holland High clipped Belair High 60-59 points; Manchester High crushed Charlemont High 51-11 points; Ardenne gained a walk over Old Harbour High; Holland High gained a walk over St Catherine High.
