Domtar defeated St Thomas by seven wickets to move to the top of Zone B in the 2013 Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum Masters Twenty20 (T20) cricket match at the Kensington Park on Sunday.

It was Domtar's second win in as many matches and moved them to six points.

Bowling for Domtar, Kenny Isaacs, Vincent Grey and Dave Harris ended with two wickets each.

In reply, Domtar, led by Winston Myers' top score of 43, made 107-3 with more than eight overs to spare. Myers was supported by Raymond Brown, who chipped in with 34.

In the second game at the Kensington venue, Melbourne, buoyed by Larry Crichton's unbeaten 50, completed an identical seven-wicket romp for their first Zone A victory over Portmore.

Earlier, Portmore, who are still without a win, took first strike but could only manage 109-6 off their allotted 20 overs, despite Kirk McKenzie's 41.

Bowling for Melbourne, Shawn Lodge took 2-9 and Dirk Dwyer finished with 2-10.

Melbourne strolled to 111-3 as Crichton and Aubrey Wollaston (26) set up the win inside the 19th over.

Robert Turner took 2-26 for Portmore.

Scores: Portmore 109-6 (20 overs); Melbourne 111-3 (18.2 overs)

The competition takes a break next weekend as the island turns attention to the hosting of the International Tri-Nation cricket series.
