Final push for St James Under-20 semi-finals

MONTEGO BAY, St James — The semi-finals of the St James Football Association Sandals International Under-20 competition will be confirmed this afternoon with two rescheduled games.

Leaders Heights FC, who are on 12 points and have secured their place in the play-offs along with Bogue FC, will take on Lane FC at the UDC field, while fourth-placed Petersfield High face out-of-contention MoBay City FC at Herbert Morrison. Both games are set to start at 3:30 pm.

Heights FC are followed by Bogue FC and Spot Valley High, both on 10 points from their six games, while Petersfield High are on nine points with a game to go, two more than Lane FC who could force their way into the last four with a win over Heights FC.

Bogue FC secured their place in the semi-finals with a 4-0 win over Norwood FC on Tuesday, while Spot Valley were held 2-2 by Lane FC Wednesday, two days after they beat Petersfield High 3-1.

Sanjay Patterson scored twice to lead Bogue FC, while Tyrone Reid and Michael Williams also got on the scoresheet on Tuesday.

On Wednesday Spot Valley came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Lane FC.

Nashawne Rowe scored in the ninth minute to give Lane the lead and Oshain Powell doubled the advantage in the 16th minute.

Rogewayne Thompson pulled one back for Spot Valley in the 19th minute, while Rackim Brown brought them level in the 66th minute.
