Adonis continued his successful winning trek travelling down the five-straight on Saturday at Caymanas Park when he completed four consecutive wins over the distance, success this time came at the Overnight Allowance level.

Adonis completed his four-timer over the distance in a tidy 58.3 seconds.

Trainer Anthony Nunes though pleased with the run was not at all surprised.

“He is a decent sprinter as he comes from a good sprinting line, as Siempre Bueno and Orpheus are his siblings. Like his siblings, Adonis has good ability but is hampered from being fully effective over other distances to match his quality, by having knee surgery and tendon problems.

“To keep him ( Adonis) in racing, I keep him up the straight as far as possible. This performance is pretty good as he jumped up from the Restricted Stakes to Overnight Allowance company and he dealt with it comfortably.

“We are therefore hoping that he remains healthy and sound and continues to do well. In the long run, it depends on how healthy he stays. If he stays sound, then he can work his way up as he has good sprinting ability,” Nunes informed.
