Provisional nominations for the $1.3 million Governor General's Stakes over 10 furlongs (2,000m) pit a possible matchup of Bigdaddykool and the much-improved Will In Charge .

When the two met last in the Prime Minister's Stakes in August over the same distance of 10 furlongs, Will In Charge gave a signal of his rising stocks, with an outstanding and dogged effort which allowed him to just get the better of Bigdaddykool.

In the GG Stakes which is set for renewal this Saturday, nine horses – four from the stables of trainer Anthony Nunes – have been provisionally entered. The other Nunes runners entered are Houdini's Magic, last year's Derby winner Orpheus, and last season's two-year-old champion Sotomayor. Trainers Gary Subratie and Wayne DaCosta have both provisionally entered two horses.

Bigdaddykool carries top weight of 126 lb (57.0 kg), four kilograms more than stablemate Houdini's Magic, with Brawn next in line with 51.0 kg.
