The newly minted rivalry between Bigdaddykool and Will In Charge reaches another gear tomorrow when the two meet again over 10 furlongs, this time in the Governor General's Stakes.

Will In Charge defeated the established long-distance king, Bigdaddykool, in a thrilling contest on August 7 in the Prime Minister's Stakes.

The race is not limited to these two, however, as the mercurial Brawn is also entered along with Houdini's Magic.

Below is the race analysis in post-position order.

BIGDADDYKOOL — Fourth run for the season and is slowly but surely regaining his top form. Bigdaddykool was narrowly defeated on last by Will In Charge (over the same distance as tomorrow's race) in an event that was stacked against him on the front end. Despite losing to Will In Charge by a neck over the same distance, Bigdaddykool finds himself three pounds worse off compared to Will In Charge, giving the latter an even greater advantage based on handicaps. Where Bigdaddykool will make up for this slight disadvantage is how the race will be run, as with his stablemate Houdini's Magic in the race, Will In Charge will certainly not have it his own way on the headlines. Bigdaddykool is the choice.

BRAWN — After his antics at the gates on August 26, a better-behaved Brawn returned on September 2 and easily won over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m). The fate of this imported gelding will depend on how he gets out of the gates tomorrow. If Brawn behaves well, then his chances of winning are increased.

WILL IN CHARGE — One of the revelations of this season with four wins from six starts. Will In Charge ran a blinder in the Prime Minister's Stakes on August 7, setting off in front and then holding the gallop under pressure in the straight for what was truly a breakout win for the four-year-old. Victory tomorrow will be a challenge for Will In Charge, however, as Awesome Destiny and Houdini's Magic are sure to niggle him for headline space. If Will In Charge is properly rated, this will improve his chances of winning. A credit to his trainer.

ROYAL VIBES — Despite showing some good form of late, it is difficult to see Royal Vibes winning this one.

AWESOME DESTINY — Although Awesome Destiny's chances of winning are limited, he might have a profound impact on the outcome of this race.

HOUDINI'S MAGIC — A change of running style — from coming from behind to leading — has transformed the career of Houdini's Magic, who is now one of our better middle-distance runners. Houdini's Magicis almost sure to hunt for the headlines and does possess the ability to last home, but it is going to be tough. He will influence who wins tomorrow in a significant manner.
