AFTER the victory by She's A Maneater in the Legal Light Trophy on Saturday, May 18, 2019, trainer Wayne DaCosta shared his views on the future of his remarkable filly.

“Another great performance from a great racehorse, She's A Maneater. She certainly delivered today (Saturday). She was working beautifully coming into the race and we were expecting a good performance but to run so well, it was fantastic,” said DaCosta.

The champion trainer in his post-race comments gave an indication of how he is going to proceed with She's A Maneater.

“Let's look at her performances this season as a five-year-old, and if we make a true assessment then it is fair to say that the shorter, She's A Maneater runs, the less effective she is. True, she will win some races because of her undoubted class but, in my estimation, she is better off going long.

“We are going to take it one day at a time. I can't tell you where we are going to run her next, but we are surely going to run her long not going short. We are going to programme Stranger Danger to go short and middle-distance races and she ( She's A Maneater) to go long.”

As to her victory on Saturday, DaCosta stated: “All we can say is that we are honoured to have her in our presence. The game plan was to basically to sit close and make sure Will In Charge didn't get an easy lead and she did just that and attacked him from 3 furlongs out. After straightening, she was almost ahead and it was a fight among two great horses. Luckily jockey Omar Walker was able to finish the job where it mattered most, the finish line.”
