Derrick Smith, Wayne Chen appointed to racing boards

Former Government minister, now retired, Derrick Smith; businessman Wayne Chen; and Pamela Folkes, a representative from the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service have been appointed to sit on the boards of the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) and the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC).

Smith, a long-time owner of thoroughbreds, joins the JRC board, while Chen and Folkes will do duties on the JRC and BGLC boards

Both the BGLC and the JRC boards, plus the Casino Gaming Commission are chaired by retired banker, Clovis Metcalfe.
