RACE 1 $250-210.000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UPWARDS) 1820METRES/9FURLS+25YARDS

Also Correct was in a field where she could dominate the early fractions, and with Wesley Henry's well-chronicled reputation as an outstanding exponent of front-running tactics no one was likely to get on terms. Askaboutme, whose last eight performances brought into question his zest for racing, was well turned out and even looked a bit of a threat with 300 metres to go. Finished just under two lengths second while favourite Late N Drafty never raised a gallop to be 10 lengths fourth.

RACE 2-MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT (5YOS&UPWARDS)

800METRES/4FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Lola Grey led Dango and Astro on the far side to be clear at the distance. Seriousmanipulator, despite the odds (99/1) was the best he has ever looked in the post-parade, and his late rush failed by only three parts of a length to get on terms with Lola Grey.

RACE 3-$180,000 CLAIMING (4-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1500METRES/7 1/2FURLONGS)

Dusseldorf, whose past performances is infinitely superior to any of his half a dozen rivals, took over from pacemaker Cosequin approaching the final bend and was ridden out to win by 13 lengths, with Sista Margarett another 14 lengths behind in third.

RACE 4-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE V (4YOS&UP/NW2) 1500METRES/7 1/2FURLS

El Maestro, Senor Kwanzi and Willodene were early into their gallops, while Lady In The Arena and Princess Kavel were well off the pace down the backstretch. El Maestro led in the upper straight but, despite his good past form, failed to see out the distance when attacked in the last 200 metres by winner Princess Kavel and runner-up Lady In The Arena close home.

RACE 5-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (4YOS&UP/NW2) 1600METRES/82FURLONGS

Rockdale, Deal Marker and Regal Prospector staged a three-horse war to the top of the stretch, with Blue Tradition rounding them on the outside and Winter Is Coming sneaking through on the inside at the bend. Once the last two named straightened, they settled down to a battle with no quarters asked and none being given. Entering the last 200 metres, Winter Is Coming edged to the front with Blue Tradition refusing to go away. Subbie, among the back-markers early, came strongly down the centre of the stretch and caught the well-ridden Winter Is Coming in the final stride to score by a short head.

RACE 6-RESTRICTED STAKES (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

The idea of fitting 2000 Guineas failure Another Vigorous with a visor may not have been the best move, as he proved difficult to rate and led in tearaway fashion into the straight pursued by Peking Cruz. Another Vigorous, despite setting such a debilitating early pace (22.1x45.0) and being threatened, stayed on well to hold Peking Cruz at bay but found the finishing burst of Runallday irresistible and lost by a length.

RACE 7-MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT DIVISION II (3YOS) 1000METRES/5FURLS.STRAIGHT

Golden Destiny led in mid-track but found nothing and was relegated to fifth. Princess Zella was always going best to enjoy a lead at the distance, which was never under threat to score by over two lengths. Well-fancied Uncle Honey ran greenly but kept to the near rails to hold on for second with Miss In Kiss prominently holding on to third.

RACE 8-RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (3YOFILLIES/NW2) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Barcelona escaped the gates quickly but was soon joined by favourite My Super Girl travelling awfully well from early. Barcelona tried her best to stay in touch but it proved to be an exercise in futility as My Super Girl, fitted with a one-cup blinker to cure her propensity to drift wildly right, cornered perfectly and won comfortably. Azaria, who since winning as a juvenile last August had kept good company without making any impression, ran on well to be only two and a half lengths behind My Super Girl, but was seven lengths clear of Barcelona who barely held on to third.

RACE 9-MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT (DIVISION I (3YOS) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Debutant Nuclear Flight, impressive in conformation, the long odds-on favourite, was never off the bridle to confirm her pre-race reputation with a victory of nine and a half lengths easing down.

RACE 10-OVERNIGHT ALLOWANCE (3YOS&UPWARDS) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURL ong S.

Surprisingly, Bimini led Polly B and Talented Tony K early until the latter took over in the final part of the bend and led into the final 200 metres. Wong Don was held up nicely behind the pacemakers and came with a well-timed challenge to hit the front 100 metres out, having the momentum to last by a neck from the fast-finishing Sarah Lee. Polly B held on well for third but had his number relegated for causing interference to Dancing Queen.

RACE 11-MAIDEN CONDITION (THREE-YEAR-OLD-FLLIES) 1600METRES/8FURLONGS

She's Symbolic broke well but Treasure Train, although not as sharp, sprinted through on inside to make the early running and to try and escape from 800 metres out. With 700 metres to come, She's Symbolic moved to put the pressure on and these two went clear of the rest at this point. An exciting duel ensued from the top of the stretch, with the lead interchanging at different points. Eventually, Linton Steadman was able to induce She's Symbolic to find the necessary extra to prevail by a neck.
