RACE 1 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (5YOS&UP/NW3) 1400METRES/7FURLONGS

Well-fancied Smokescreen unseated his rider soon after the start. Buckaluck emerged with a comfortable early lead and was pursued in the stretch by Boffo. Always clear, Buckaluck outstayed rivals thoroughly to score by nine lengths. Party Princess ran by those who got tired from running closest to the strong pace to secure second by a neck from Photogenic.

RACE 2 — MAIDEN CONDITION (THREE-YEAR-OLDS FILLIES) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

Nyoka Classic was very alert at the start and led briefly with Aria, who, after being slowly into stride, rushed into the lead and held it to the top of the stretch before weakening quickly. Once left in the lead, Nyoka Classic travelled well and was ready for the challenge of Cerasini, which came at the distance. Finding more entering the last 200 metres, Nyoka Classic went clear to win by just over three lengths.

RACE 3 — $1,000,000-850,000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UP) 1300METRES/6 1/2FURLONGS

Capturemyship was slowly into his stride but sprinted up the rails to lead until fading at the top of the stretch. Always going well in pursuing the leader, once Miss Formality assumed the lead nothing else mattered as she won by a conservative five and a half lengths.

RACE 4— $180,000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UPWARDS) 800METRES/4FURLONGS STRAIGHT

Laguna Point justified odds-on favouritism convincingly with a very sharp break from the gates and maintained a comfortable lead throughout to score by two lengths. Princess Statistic chased all the way to secure second.

RACE 5 — MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT (TWO-YEAR-OLD) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

Long odds favourite Tricky One was slowly into stride in similar fashion his debut. Mystic Mama led early but was soon joined by Juice Man, and the pair sprinted together to the top of the stretch until the former took the lead early in the home straight. Tricky One made ground steadily, came up the far rails strongly and was on terms with Mystic Mama 200 metres out. Once in the lead, Tricky One strode out nicely for a victory by two and a half lengths.

RACE 6 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE IV (4YOS&UP/NW3) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Mr Pantheon, who trained impressively, was presented in improved condition and was in front at the end of 300 metres. Rockdale went in pursuit immediately and attacked for the lead 400 metres away from the finish, but this was repelled by Mr Pantheon who kept on strongly in front. Amar, hard ridden from 750 metres out, got into top gear late once again, got his nose in front of Rockdale at the line, but that was only two and a half lengths behind Mr Pantheon.

RACE 7 — OPEN ALLOWANCE (3-YEAR-OLDS&UPWARDS) 1100METRES/5 1/2FURLONGS

Peking Cruz was a step slow into stride but sprinted to the front easily and made the running under top weight to beat the also improving Without Exception by three parts of a length. Peking Cruz is now ready for the top class.

RACE 8 — MAIDEN CONDITION (THREE-YEAR-OLDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

Dreamingofanna and debutant Ridewiththemob disputed the early lead, with the former assuming sole leadership with 800 metres to come. It's A Rap, travelling easily on the bridle, went in chase of the leader and got no resistance in the bid to strike the front in the upper straight. Increasing his advantage to win by five lengths, this was a much-improved run from It's A Rap.

RACE 9—$450-400,000 CLAIMING (3YOS&UPWARDS) 1200METRES/6FURLONGS

Like A Lady led early with Balazo pursuing at a rather scratchy gallop, both clearly not enjoying the race. Hologram Shadow, always going well in pursuit of 23 career wins and the sixth this year, came to the front approaching the distance and ran very well inside last 200 to hold safe from Flying Machine's fast late effort. Nine-year-old Diferentgeneration, the same age as the winner, finished third; this was a testament to their durability as between them they have won a total of 33 races from 179 starts combined and together made the frame 80 times.

RACE 10 — RESTRICTED ALLOWANCE II (3YOS/NW2) 1000METRES/5FURLONGS ROUND

Necromancer, in rushing to lead 800 metres out, was deemed by the majority of the Operation Stewards' panel to have caused interference and intimidation when moving sharply towards the inner rails and failed to survive an objection lodged by the rider of Reggae Road. Madam Secretary did not go with the early pace but finished well on the inside to better Reggae Road by a short head for second just over three lengths behind the disqualified Necromancer. Having won the previous five races on the card, title-chasing jockey Dick Cardenas denied himself the satisfaction of a rare six-timer.
