The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) Trophy — an Open Allowance even competed for over five and a half furlongs (1,100 metres) — is set for Emancipation Day (August 1) at Caymanas Park. This will be the 14th edition of the popular trophy race.

An early look at the possible starters for the BGLC Trophy provides all the elements for another cracker, with some of the top-rated horses in the land preparing for participation. Last year the talented American filly Choo Choo Blue took home the BGLC Trophy for trainer Peter McMaster, owner Miss Suckie, and jockey Javaniel Patterson.

Another Bullet, who has another chance of winning this prestigious trophy race, was second with Odeen Edwards in the saddle, with third going to Sir Budget under the hands of now leading rider, Anthony Thomas.

Interestingly, Buzz Nightmare (Ian Spence) actually finished third but was disqualified and placed fourth, behind Sir Budget.

A list of the possible starters is offered below for perusal by the Supreme Racing Guide.

The total purse of the race is $1.5 million.
