'Teddy' Johnson on scoresheet again in England

JAMAICAN International Jermaine "Teddy" Johnson scored his fourth goal in his last six games for Sheffield Wednesday, who went down 2-1 to Exeter City in their npower League One match yesterday at St James Park.

It was a frustrating setback for Wednesday (The Owls), with 64 per cent possession of the ball and with all three goals coming in the second half against Exeter City (The Grecians).

After Lewis Buxton looped a cross that Exeter's Polish keeper Artur Krysiak tipped over the bar in the 66th minute, The Owls kept up the pressure a minute later.

Buxton arrowed in a long throw that was only half cleared, paving the way for Johnson to rifle in a volley from 25 yards into the bottom left corner of goal.

Three minutes later The Grecians responded when Billy Jones curled in a left-footed free kick around the wall and into the bottom left corner of goal.

About seven minutes from time Exeter sealed the issue from another free kick, this time from David Noble.

Noble's dipped effort from 22 yards zoomed past Stephen Bywater as The Grecians recorded their first victory from their last five matches.

Seconds after the goal Johnson was booked for dissent by referee Fred Graham.

Second-placed Wednesday (57 points) will host sixth-placed Stevenage (45 points) on Tuesday at their Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield in their next League One match.

At the end of the season the top two teams are promoted to The Championship, the second highest division in English football.
