Despite being put in her place by Will In Charge and company in the recent Legal Light Trophy overnine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m), Marvellous Marva should have no problems against rivals in theMark My Word Trophy highlighter at Caymanas Park today. The Philip Feanny trainee was expected to have a say in the Grade One Legal Light Trophy, her first runagainst the big guns, but the five-year-old grey mare finished in fourth place by over 13 lengths, and in the race offered no challenge.Back now to open allowance, however to Open Allowance and with female rider Mellisa Ward in the saddle, MarvellousMarva should put her five rivals away with minimum fuss. Prior to her disappointing run in the LegalLight on August 21 Marvellous Marva was coming off three straight victories — with two of her wins beingat this level. She won over seven furlongs (1,400m) in 1:26.1 and then over a mile (1,600m) in 1:38.2.

Marvellous Marva, with 54.0 kgs (119 lb) to carry, should reproduce at the level of those performances and return to winning ways. The only threat to Marvellous Marva in today's three-year-olds and upward event over nine furlongs and25 yards (1,820m) is the Wayne DaCosta-trained Hover Craft, to be ridden by Omar Walker. Hover Crafthas raced three times this season with one win, and that was on February 24 over a mile (1,600m),beating Dontae in 1:39.0. The race was in Overnight Allowance company and Hover Craft will have toimprove tremendously on that performance if he wants to upset the favourite here. The other runners — Uncle Taf, Dysfuctional, Supertronics and Timeforarms — should play their part, butgetting the better of the top-two will be a very uphill task. Also carded is the Labour Day Trophy going over six furlongs (1,200m). Here, the battle for supremacylies among Runallday, Little Big Horn and Loose Cannon with the edge being given to Runallday.
