All set for Digicel/Marley football fiesta

THE Digicel Bob Marley One Love Celebrity football matches take place today at the Constant Spring field starting at 2:00 pm with a host of celebrities expected to participate.

Gates will be opened at 12:00 noon and fans will be treated to a host of activities including six round-robin matches between four teams — Entertainers, Master & Celebrities, Sponsors and a Media and Promoters team.

The event which is expected to finish at 6:00 pm, is in memory of Reggae legend Robert Nesta Marley and organiser Clive 'Busy' Campbell has been doing this for the last 30 years.

Every year an organisation benefits from the proceeds and this year, the initiating of a basic school in Malvern, St Elizabeth is the target.

Patrons will get a chance to see former West Indies cricketing great Courtney Walsh, entertainers Idona, Konshens, Chris Martin, Ding Dong, Wickaman, Cobra, RDX-2 and Nesbeth strut their stuff.

Action kicks off with Media and Promoters opening against Masters & Celebrities. This will be followed by Sponsors opposing Entertainers; Entertainers vs Media and Promoters; Media and Promoters vs Sponsors; Masters & Celebrities vs Sponsors and Masters and Celebrities vs Entertainers.

Admission to the event will be $500 with children under 10 free.
