PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) -- West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo made a stunning return from injury on Saturday, blasting a thrilling century for Queen's Park Oval in his first competitive match in seven weeks.
The right-hander carved out an aggressive 155 against Alescon Comets as Queen's Park reached 307 on the opening day of the fourth round of the Premiership Division here at Pierre Road Recreation Ground.
Bravo missed West Indies' five-match One-Day series against Australia last month along with the first two matches of the current Zimbabwe tour after sustaining a hand injury while playing in Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash in January.
Cleared to return to action by a team of medical doctors headed by Dr Terry Ali, Bravo showed no signs of discomfort as he lashed eight fours and 13 sixes off 140 deliveries in 223 minutes at the crease.
His return to fitness will be welcome news for the embattled West Indies team who have missed his effervescent all-round services.
With regional selectors expected to name the squad for the last three One-Day Internationals shortly, Bravo will be now expected to feature in the lineup.
On Saturday, Bravo dominated a fourth wicket partnership of 132 with younger brother, Darren Bravo, who contributed a patient 34.
Trinidadian youth player Dharry Balgobin was the best bowler on show, snapping up five for 16 from 10 overs.
In reply, Comets closed on 95 for three, with Barbadian all-rounder Javon Searles unbeaten on 59.
