ZURICH, Switzerland (CMC) -- CONCACAF's Women's Gold Cup third-place finisher will host the second leg of a two-game play-off with Europe's fifth-place finisher on November 27 for a place in next year's Women's World Cup, the sport's World governing body announced on Wednesday.
FIFA held the draw to determine the path for qualification for the World Cup on at its Swiss headquarters on Wednesday, and disclosed that the European team will host the first leg on November 20.
CONCACAF is guaranteed two berths in the 16-team World Cup in Germany, and this will be decided by the top two from CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup which will be played in late October-early November at a venue still to be determined.
Qualifying for the Women's Gold Cup began earlier this month in the Caribbean with Guyana and St Lucia advancing to the second round.
Guyana clinched the Group-A title on March 7, and St Lucia defeated the United States Virgin Islands and hosts Antigua & Barbuda this past weekend in Group-C.
