Copperwood, Boys Club lead St James Div One

BICKERSTETH, St James -- Copperwood FC and Montego Bay Boys Club have taken the lead in their respective groups of the Claro St James Football Association's Division 1 competition after play finally got underway on Tuesday.
The competition, which kicked off two Saturdays ago, was delayed for a few more days, but saw five of six games played on Tuesday across the parish.
Copperwood and Boys Club both scored 2-0 wins to lead Zone A and B, respectively.
Goals from Matthew Shaw in the first half and Byron Clarke in the second half carried Copperwood to a 2-0 win over Upsetters at Bickersteth Community Centre.
Shaw scored in the sixth minute while Clarke netted in the 77th as Copperwood joined three other clubs on three points, but with a better goal-difference in Zone A.
Juniors FC, who beat opening day winners Rosemount Gardens 1-0 at Albion, are also on three points, along with Westgreen, who rebounded from their loss to Rosemount to beat Little Miami 2-1 at Westgreen.
Floyd Collins in the eighth and Shawn Samuels 20 minutes later scored for Westgreen, while Alwayne Somons scored in the 49th for Little Miami.
Two goals within two minutes late in the second half from Marvin Sangster and Lovel Jonas gave Boys Club a 2-0 win over Marl Road in Zone B at Mt Salem.
Sangster netted in the 69th while Jonas scored in the 71st as Boys Club earned maximum points, while the Seaview versus promoted Reggae Youths match ended 1-1.
Omar Gordon gave Reggae Youths the lead in the 67th, but Shavar Blake equalised in the 78th for Seaview.
