Rodman lands Blissett Mem cycling race

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

MARLOE Rodman captured the combined category one and two event at the 7th staging of Blissett Memorial Classic on Sunday at National Heroes Circle.

Rodman outsped Michael Daley and Tinga Turner in the development race which organisers did not time.

Sheldon Pellington pulled away to victory in the category three race, beating Daley and Kemar Dunn; while Peter Matalon clinched category four, ahead Ives Reid, and Markland Lobban.

For the junior cyclists 15 to 18 years old, Tyler topped the event with Oshane Williams second and Marcel Hayes third, and in category five, Barrington Bailey beat Frederick Rhule and Kevin Lyons.

Albert Millen took the Masters 40 and over category, getting the better of Cleveland Sharpe and Robert Allen, while in the Masters 50 and over, Garnet Young showed glimpses of his youth to win ahead of Gary Fung Yee and Dexter Stewart.

In the All Comers race, Andre Douglas triumphed over Kemar Douglas and Fabian Robinson.
