Dinthill's Williams shines at Ewarton Track Meet

YEACHECHA Williams of Dinthill Technical proved a triple threat, claiming the Girls Under-17 100, 200 and 400m at the MTT/ECODAC Development Meet at the Ewarton Field at the weekend.
Williams posted 12.66 seconds to win the 100 before returning to take the 200 in 26.33 secs and the 400 in 62.70 seconds.
Janell Kelly, also of Dinthill, copped the Girls Under-20 100m in 20.30 seconds, defeating Bog Walk's Natasha Walker, 20.63.
Walker returned to secure the Women's 200 in 26.38 ahead of Kelly, 26.40.
In the Boys' section, Renardo Wilson of Bog Walk clocked 21.40 seconds to win the 200m and later posted 51.88 for victory in the 400m.
The upset of the day was Ishmael Buchanan of Dinthill Technical who won the 100m in 10.97 seconds, beating team-mate Kenute Pusey, 11.04.
Lorenzo Benjamin of Dinthill claimed the 800m in 2:04.92 ahead of Sadeakie Morgan of Bog Walk, 2:05.20, and Renaldo Graham of Ocho Rios High, 2:05.22.
Larone Haye of Ocho Rios closed the show with victory in the 1500m in 4:18.62.
In the Primary Schools Invitation, Leroy Smith of Orangefield won the Boys' 150m in 21.42 seconds. Renee Brown claimed the Girls' equivalent in 21.89.
Primary Schools Championships record-holder Christopher Taylor of Ewarton topped the 300m in an impressive 44.34 seconds, while the Girls' equivalent was won by Keisha Ashley of Orangefield in 57.74.
One hundred and eight athletes from six schools participated at the meet which featured schools from St Catherine and St Ann.
