BUFF BAY, Portland — A double strike by Roberto Fletcher earned Highgate United a 2-2 draw with Village United in a bottom-of-the-table Red Stripe Premier League game at Lynch Park on Sunday.

Fletcher scored his double in the 17th and 60th minutes, while Village responded through Cordell Simpson (eigth minute) and Shavar Campbell (24th).

Highgate were the more aggressive on the offensive front and threatened to go ahead early through Donavon Davis whose effort was blocked by goalkeeper Ladale Richie.

Against the run of play, Village took the lead when Andreas Nickles threw the ball to Ian McAnuff, who passed to Simpson just outside the penalty area, with the latter letting loose a grounder that beat custodian Ralston Robinson after it hit the inside of the left upright before going in.

Highgate levelled the scores nine minutes later when Davis picked up a ball inside the Village penalty area, and with his back to the goal, laid off to an alert Roberto Fletcher who tapped home.

Village went ahead again when Highgate's Steve Green pulled down Village Ronaldo Rodney inside the penalty area and referee Dwight Royal pointed to the 12-yard spot. Campbell made no mistake to make the contest 2-1.

Highgate got the equaliser on the hour when Severo Murphy set up Fletcher, who made his strike count.
