Frazsiers, Basovak in Major League feature
AH
Saturday, February 25, 2012
LEAGUE leaders Frazsiers Whip and third-placed DB Basovak will clash in the feature match in today's round of matches in the LIME/St Catherine FA Major League.
Of interest will be the Portmore derby between second-placed Rodwood and Portsmouth in fifth, while high-riding Christian Pen journey to Dunbeholden.
McCooks Pen are at home to Spanish Town police, so too are Black Lion who await Wanderers at Irish Pen.
The first time these two teams meet this season, Frazsiers came away 3-1 winners on November 26 and have been the dominant team in the
league since.
Basovak's campaign, however, has been marked by fluctuating fortunes, but they have managed to put three victories in a row of late.
It should be a good contest nevertheless, but Frazsiers should have the upper hand on the visitors as Rayon Gordon's team are unbeaten at home.
After Frazsiers opened a five-point gap at the top, Floyd Coke's Rodwood dealt with the pressure well to overcome Black Lion on Tuesday. However, Portsmouth should provide a sterner examination for them in the derby as the hosts have been one of the most consistent teams since the start of the second round.
At least a draw for Rodwood would not be a bad result, but they must keep winning to stay close to the leaders.
Christian Pen have been fantastic, while Dunbeholden appear to be stuck in the rut.
