Gas Pro Open Junior Tennis on this weekend

Over 90 competitors are expected to take the courts this weekend as the inaugural Gas Pro Open Junior Tennis Championships serves off at the Liguanea Club at 9:00 am.
Gas Products Limited through its Gas Pro band is a first time sponsor to the junior tennis fraternity where it has sponsored the Gas Pro Open Junior Tennis Championship, the first tournament in the 2012 junior tennis series.
The contestants will vie for trophy prizes in the categories boys 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18, and girls 12, 14, and 18 and under. The finals will be held at the Liguanea Club tomorrow at 10:00 am. The presentation ceremony is at 3:00 pm.
In addition to trophy prizes, the winners in each category will also receive points towards their national ranking.
Sales manager at Gas Products, Nicola Dawson, said at the official launch of the tournament on Wednesday that sponsorship is the lifeblood of any competition and the company was pleased to now be affiliated with the tennis brand in Jamaica.
"We are contributing to tournaments like these as part of our corporate initiative. A wide range of persons use our products and we believe this is one way for us to give back to them," Dawson said.
Tournament director Llockett McGregor added that tournaments like these is a motivation to young players who can use tennis as a channel to excel both academically and physically.
