WESTGREEN, St James — Granville United, leaders in Zone 1 of the JFF Captain's Bakery Western Confederation Super League will this afternoon be seeking to extend their lead when they take on second-placed Catherine Hall at Westgreen in a St James derby.
Granville, who had won the first round game 1-0, leads the standings with 15 points, two more than the Garfield Anderson coached Catherine Hall with Wadadah a point back in third place on 12 points, all from eight games.
In Zone 2, leaders Savannah FC will seek to rebound from their 5-0 pasting at the hands of Bamboo when they host inconsistent Fogo United at Truro.
Four points separate the top five clubs in Zone 2 as the second round draws to a close.
At Westgreen, the home team who are coming off a win over Invaders, could move into the lead for the first time this season if they can beat Granville.
Catherine Hall are unbeaten in their last four games while Granville has won just once in heir last three games.
Third placed Wadadah has failed to win in their last two games and have slipped to third place and will host fourth placed Frome at the UDC field and will seek a second win over the Westmoreland team this season after a first round 3-0 win.
Also in Zone 1, Jericho Rangers and Invaders will meet at Elgin Town.
Savannah has set the pace in Zone 2 so far but has lost three of their eight games including the big loss in the last round.
The Westmoreland club had beaten Fogo 2-1 in the first round and will hope to at least repeat their victory when they host the Montego Bay club today.
Bamboo is a point behind Savannah and will host Tomorrow's People who have won their last three in a row and are just three points off the lead.
Games for today:
Bamboo vs Tomorrow's People - Bamboo 2-1
Catherine Hall vs Granville FC - Westgreen 0-1
Harmony vs Mt Pelier - Bounty Hall 0-0
Jericho Rangers vs Invaders - Elgin Town *3-0
Savannah vs Fogo - Truro 2-1
