H'View still atop U-21 League after 4-2 win
Sunday, February 12, 2012
HARBOUR View remained atop the second round table and climbed to second overall in the JFF Under-21 League after scoring a 4-2 win over Portmore United at Ferdie Neita Complex on Friday.
With two matches remaining in the round, the Harold Thomas-coached Harbour View lead with 25 points -- two more than overall leaders Arnett Gardens, who sit atop the overall standings with 47.
Arnett and Harbour View are all but assured of a place in the second End-Round final.
In other results, Arnett blanked Reno, 4-0; MoBay United drubbed Highgate, 7-0; Humble Lion turned back Tivoli Gardens, 1-0; Sporting Central defeated Boys' Town by the same score, while Waterhouse and Village United drew 0-0.
At Ferdie Neita Park, Juvane Benjamin opened the scoring on 14 minutes before Jeremie Lynch (19th and 67th) added a brace and Romario Campbell another for the visiting Harbour View.
Ricardo Smith (83rd and 89th) netted two late goals for the hosts, but it was too little too late for the home side.
Meanwhile, at the Tony Spaulding Complex, a goal each from Kemar Shaw, Fabian Reid, Jovoni Simms and Andrew Allen carried Arnett to a resounding win over Reno.
Arnett's Al Nesbeth and Reno's Ian Gayle were both shown the red card for fighting in the 86th minute.
At Tucker, former St James High star Allan Ottey (thirrd, 32nd and 49th) scored a hat-trick to lead MoBay past Highgate. Omar Gordon also bagged a double for the winners and Ajohn Barker one.
At Edward Seaga Complex, Jason Wallace scored the only goal nine minutes from time as Humble Lion beat Tivoli.
Alex Bennett scored 19 minute into Sporting Central's match as they defeated Boys' Town, 1-0.
Harbour View are second overall with 40 points, followed by Portmore on 38 and Tivoli on 32.
