UTech, GC Foster begin Inter-Col title defence

Everard Owen

Friday, March 19, 2010

THE Inter-Collegiate track and field athletic championship gets under way at GC Foster College today, starting at 9:00 am. The championship will run over two days.

There should be keen competition between University of Technology (UTech), who will be defending the Men's title, and GC Foster College, while the latter will seek to ward off UTech for the Women's title that they regained last year.

The University of the West Indies (UWI) should also be putting in a good showing, along with The Mico University.

Other institutions taking part in the meet are Knox Community College -- who will seek to retain their Rural Area titles -- Montego Bay Community College, College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), Excelsior Community College and Portmore Community College.

On Saturday, the Men's long jump will have Alain Bailey and Tariq Bachelor from the University of Arkansas participating.
