Big four through to netball semis

DEFENDING champions JAMALCO, along with Waulgrovians 'A', Tivoli 'A' and WINDALCO, are through to the semi-finals of the 2009-2010 JNBS/JNA Open League by winning their respective quarter-finals at the Leila Robinson Courts last Saturday.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday with defending champions JAMALCO facing arch-rivals and many-time winners Waulgrovians 'A' at 6:00 pm, while the second semi-final will see Tivoli 'A' and WINDALCO doing battle at 7:00 pm.
All four teams advanced to the semi-finals unbeaten.
In quarter-final action last Saturday, JAMALCO defeated Blades United 'A' 49-18, Waulgrovians 'A' eased past Jetsetters "A" 44-17, Tivoli 'A' defeated Police 'A' 39-15, while WINDALCO beat Arnett Gardens 'A' 32-23. T
Also, the semi-finals of the consolation knockout will be played today with Hampshire 'A' against GC Foster Strikers 'A' at 7:00 pm and Mico taking on SPEG 'A' at 7:00 pm.
In the 'quarters', Hampshire 'A' defeated Waulgrovians 'A' 33-22, Foster Strikers 'A' beat SKIBO 'A' in extra time 33-28, Mico beat Ravens 'A' 27-25 and SPEG 'A' got the better of Maxfield Park 30-28 in extra time.
