RIVOLI United extended their lead atop the South Central Confederation Super League after coming out 2-1 winners in their top-of-the-table clash against Meadows FC at Monk Street at the weekend.

Despite the loss, Meadows remained in second, while Royal Lakes moved up to third after hammering Downs of Manchester, 4-1, at Lime Tree Oval. The Bodles versus Naggo Head encounter did not materialise due to a clash of colours.

In the second set of round eight matches played on Sunday, Newland prevailed 1-0 over Monymusk of Clarendon, courtesy of a 27th-minute strike from Danvine Thomas, but the Portmore-based outfit still remain second from bottom in the standings.

New Green were held 0-0 by Super Action at Brooks Park, Manchester, as did Spartan Athletic, who fell out of the top four despite coming away with a point from Spanish Town against De la Vega City following a 0-0 tie.

In the LIME/St Catherine Major League played at the weekend, Portsmouth FC recorded their third win in a row to climb to fifth, while McCooks Pen dropped to seventh, as the former came away 2-1 victors at Chedwin Park.

A double strike from Nicholas Warren (15th and 74th) gave Portsmouth maximum points, while Kemar Bennett scored for the hosts in the 67th minute.

Dave Stachwell's goal in the 67th was the decider as Black Lion beat home side Dunbeholden, 1-0, to record their first win in five outings.

Today, Police will travel to Homestead where they'll play DB Basovak, who have collected only three points from their last five matches.

Tomorrow, new coach Milford Thomas will be in charge of his second match since taking over at Tru Juice FC and will be entertaining second-placed Rodwood FC at Bybrook, while leaders Frazsiers Whip await Wanderers at Frazsiers Oval.

All matches start at 3:00 pm.
