St Jago, Wolmer's win in schools' volleyball

DEFENDING champions St Jago, Wolmer's Boys and Knox College have booked semi-final places in the ISSA U-19 National Volleyball Schools' League after two rounds of quarter-final matches last week.
In the girls equivalent, Mannings and St Jago joined defending champions Wolmer's Girls in sealing their semi-final spots with wins over St Andrew High and Camperdown, respectively.
St Jago boys beat Mannings, 25-19, 25-23, 25-24; Wolmer's Boys beat newcomers Oracabessa, 25-14, 25-21, 25-4; Knox College beat Muschett 25-13, 25-24, 25-21; and Campion College beat Ardenne, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Mannings topped St Andrew 25-8, 25-22, 25-14 and Jago girls clawed their way back from the eve of defeat to overcome Camperdown, 20-25, 24-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-5.
Wolmer's Girls, seeking their 17th national title, earlier last week beat Old Harbour, 25-18, 25-16, 25-24, thanks to eight aces and four kills from Sheneille Grant, and bested western champs Muschett, 25-16, 25-13, 25-16.
The Wolmerians play their final quarter-final match on Monday against Alpha. Muschett square-off against Old Harbour, St Jago face Mannings and St Andrew High meet Camperdown.
In the boys, their quarter-finals end Tuesday with Oracabessa playing Muschett, Knox College vs Wolmer's Boys, Mannings meeting Campion College and Ardenne facing St Jago.
The semi-final round will begin on March 14, with the third-place play-off and final set for March 22.
