OLYMPIC and IAAF World Championships gold medallist Veronica Campbell Brown will open her 2010 season at this Friday's 103rd running of the Millrose Games at Madison Square Gardens in Manhattan, New York.
Campbell Brown, who is seeking to compete at the IAAF World Indoors for the first time this year when it is held in Doha, Qatar, in March, will compete in the 60m dash.
Campbell Brown's manager Claude Bryan confirmed her participation at the meet in an email yesterday, adding that her training has been going smoothly.
The meet, one of the USA's premier track and field events, is an IAAF Area Permit meet and is expected to attract a number of top runners from around the world.
Campbell Brown, who has a personal best 7.094 seconds over the distance, will be running indoors for the first time since 2006 after bypassing the indoor season the last three seasons to concentrate on two IAAF World Champion ships and an Olympic Games.
A medal at the World Indoors would see the 27-year-old winning a medal at every major global championships after winning at the IAAF World Youth and Junior levels, the Senior IAAF World Championships and Olympic Games.
