Wood Hall, Milk River in top Major League clash
BY OSHANE TOBIAS Observer writer

CHAPELTON, Clarendon — Wood Hall will look to extend their lead atop the Clarendon/Captain's Bakery Major League when they welcome Milk River to the Turners Oval in Chapelton today.
The former champions surged atop the league on Monday following a comfortable 3-0 win against basement team York Town in south west Clarendon.
A second win on the trot for Wood Hall could now see them moving further away from a tightly-bunched top five and assume the tag of early title favourites.
However, the game, set for a 3:00 pm kick-off, should be no walk-over for the north central Clarendon side, whose early championship credentials are expected to be tested by fourth-placed Milk River, who could also go top with a win.
Of the two teams, Wood Hall boasts the better statistics in all departments. They have won three and tied one of their previous four games, while scoring a league-high seven goals and are the only team yet to concede after four rounds of matches.
Milk River, on the contrary, have also won three of their four games, while losing the other after scoring six times and conceding twice.
But with a proven goalscorer in former Golden Boot winner Jameel Forrester, who has so far scored three goals, Milk River will no doubt fancy their chances of being the first team to breach their hosts' immaculate defensive line-up.
Meantime, third-placed Jamalco hope to rebound from their first defeat of the season when they host Rock River in the second game of the day at the Wembley Sports Club in Hayes.
Garfield Carney's side conceded a stoppage time goal at Milk River on Sunday to lose their 100 per cent start to their debut Major League campaign and will, no doubt, be looking to get back on track against the inconsistent Rock River.
Rock River sit in mid-table on six points, having won two of their four games played, but will also fancy their chances of taking at least a point from this fixture — seeing that they are within touching distance of the front-runners.
