Youthful legs transported Cavalier SC to a 1-0 win over Harbour View FC, in a late kick-off Red Stripe Premier League second-round match in heavy underfoot conditions at Harbour View Compound on Wednesday.

Following several exchanges between the teams after a few testy opening minutes, Cavalier broke loose and caught their hosts flat-footed on the left side to allow Orlando Brown to run through and score against a defenceless Joel Johnson.

The win eased a bit of frustration for coach Rudolph Speid who was happy for the three points more than anything else.

“This victory is probably the three most important points we gained so far as we lost our last game, and over our last four games we have to look at the quality of our form as we did not win a game — so it was very important for us to get a win here,” he said.

The win moved Cavalier into fifth position on 21 points along with sixth-placed FC Reno. Reno have played one game fewer than Cavalier's 15.

At the end of the game, the Jamaica Observer was unable to get comments from the Harbour View coaching staff.

It came as no surprise when Cavalier got their goal as they were clearly in the ascendancy.

But Harbour View had their moments at the other end, and in one of those instances, Dario Stewart tested goalkeeper Jeadine White.
