Champions UWI look to rebound versus St Thomas

After surrendering first innings points to St Ann CA in last week's drawn season opener, reigning champions University of the West Indies will look to rebound against early Zone A leaders St Thomas CA in the Jamaica Cricket Association two-day Senior Cup competition.

The second-round match is scheduled to begin 10:00 am today at Factories Oval in St Thomas.

St Thomas, who beat Police by eight wickets in the first round, have six points, while the university team has one point.

In another Zone A contest, G C Foster (three points) welcome St Ann (three points) to their base in St Catherine.

Also in Zone A, the security forces will clash at Up Park Camp with Jamaica Defence Force (one point) taking on visitors Police (zero point).

In Zone B, last season's losing finalists Melbourne CC (six points) face hosts Clarendon CA (zero point) at Jamalco, while Lucas CC (one point) welcome neighbours Kensington CC (six points) to Nelson Oval.

The other Zone B encounter sees Kingston CC (zero point) hosting Kingston and St Andrew CA (three points) at Sabina Park.

At Paradise cricket ground, Westmoreland CA (three points) take on Trelawny CA (zero point) in Zone C, while joint leaders Manchester CA (six points) tackle St James CA (zero point) at Manchester High playing field.

Also in Zone C, St Elizabeth CA (six points) meet Hanover CA (one point) at St Elizabeth Technical Sports Complex.

In Zone D, joint top team St Catherine CC (six points) entertain newcomers Mico University (two points) at Chedwin Park, while St Mary CA (one point) face visiting team Boys' Town (zero point) at Three Hills.

In the other Zone D encounter, St Catherine CA (six points) host Portland CA (one point) at Windalco.
