Although not raced since September of last year, the Anthony Nunes-conditioned Exhilarate has the class to create an upset in a Restricted Allowance event on the 10-race trophy-less programme at Caymanas Park today.

The race, which is confined to three-year-old and upward imported maidens and non-winners of two among the local lot, will venture over five-and-a-half furlongs (1,100m) for a purse of $900,000. Eight will run.

Exhilarate, though, will not have things her own way as the very fit Formal Gladiator looks a real threat and may quite well be her only danger in the race. However, good runs are expected from JamalJames, Locomotive and Harry's Train, the lone foreigner in the line-up.

The others — Valderrama, Apollo Bay and Smarty Tradition are in here for the outing and will have to await easier opportunities to come by as finding a place here, is a difficult task.

Exhilarate ( Blue Pepsi Lodge - Purejoy) last raced on September 2, 2017 when she was beaten by Nadeshico going five furlongs (1,000m) on the round course. Since then Exhilarate has proven to be quite a handful, and though she may well need this outing to further settle, the chestnut filly is more advanced than these and should make an exciting re-entry here. Note, Exhilarate races with Lasix for the first time.

Formal Gladiator ( Adore The Gold - Princess Beauty) has been very consistent of late, with his last two runs being third- and second-place finishes, respectively.

Locomotive, JamalJames and Harry's Train are well capable enough to land a blow here, but they all have to give their best effort in this one because getting past the top two will be very hard.
