Garvey Maceo High advanced to Thursday's final of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Ben Francis Cup knockout after recording a 2-1 win over many-time champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS).

The rescheduled semi-final game was completed at Juici Field in Clarendon yesterday after a postponement last week.

Garvey Maceo were leading 1-0 on Thursday when the game was called off due to waterlogged field and lightning. The final five minutes of the first half and the entire second half of the game were wrapped up yesterday at the same venue.

In the final, Garvey Maceo, the 2007 champions, will face first-time finalists BB Coke, who came from behind to beat Manchester High 2-1 in their semi-final contest last week.

Last Thursday, Marvin Williams had given Garvey Maceo the lead, and yesterday 15-year-old Cleo Clarke doubled the advantage in the second half, before Delroy Blake pulled one back for STETHS, setting up a tense final few minutes of the game.

Clarke also scored the winning goal — his team's third — in a 3-2 victory over Manchester High in the quarter-finals of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup game that saw Garvey Maceo come from behind twice before taking the lead in time added.

STETHS had come from behind in their first round game against Manning's School to win on penalty kicks, but a second comeback was not to be as they failed to get the equaliser. Their trophy drought extends to four years after winning eight trophies in a six-year period between 2010 and 2015.
