ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC) -- After two years in the job, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has terminated the services of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gregory Shillingford, with immediate effect.
In a statement, the Board said the unanimous decision to terminate the services of the CEO followed "consideration of a report on his performance conducted by its Review and Assessment Committee, a review of the evaluation process, and comments from each board member".
Roger Brathwaite, the chief marketing executive, will act as CEO until a replacement is appointed, the Board statement added.
Shillingford, who took over from Stephen Camacho as CEO of the WICB in October 2000, was a part of last year's contentious issue that led to the resignation of WICB president, Pat Rousseau, and his deputy, Clarvis Joseph, and there were questions over his retention.
The three had presided over a decision to sack West Indies team manager, Ricky Skerritt, but that verdict was overturned at a June 2 board meeting last year in Barbados -- a reversal Rousseau and Joseph deemed untenable for them.
