CONCACAF representative, John Collins, will be the man entrusted with the job of monitoring tomorrow's presidential election of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
The congress slated for the Starfish Resort in Trelawny will see South Central Confed chairman, Crenston Boxhill, challenging the incumbent, Captain Horace Burrell, for the top post in Jamaica's football.
Collins, an American sports lawyer, was up to 2001 responsible for dealing with all legal matters for the United States Soccer Federation Inc and currently runs his own law firm, Collins and Collins which is based in Chicago, Illinois.
In 2001, he was responsible for advising CONCACAF regarding its congress and presidential elections in which Trinidad and Tobago's Austin "Jack" Warner was returned as president.
Collins teaches sports law at the University of Chicago Law School and sports ethics at Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Meanwhile, the JFF yesterday released to the media its 17-point agenda for the congress, which includes the appointment of scrutineers, general secretary's report, submission of auditors' reports, re-appointment of auditors, president's address and the election of officers.
The congress will be closed to the media, but a press conference is scheduled for 3:00 pm following the vote.
Of the 104 delegates eligible to vote, 10 will come from the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA), with five each from the 12 other parish associations. Thirty executive members, two from the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) and two from the Jamaica Football Referees' Association (JFRA), complete the number.
