St Jago High School girls' team and Calabar's boys topped the 17th renewal of the Sports Plus Morant Bay Relays at the Paul Bogle Junior High School, to book tickets to the Penn Relays in April this year.

Capitalising on the absence of defending champions, Edwin Allen High, St Jago triumphed with 100 points ahead of St Andrew High, 59, Morant Bay, 32, Wolmer's Girls, 25, and The Queen's, 25.

In the boys section, Calabar tallied 61 points, prevailing over Holmwood, 43, St Jago, 42, Morant Bay, 40, and defending champions, Jamaica College, 39.

St Jago's girls underlined their dominance with victory in 10 of the 12 relays, while Holmwood's boys prospered in four relays to account for two of the three records to fall on the day.

Calabar took the the other record to fall in the boys section - the Class Four 4x150m relays, which they smashed twice.

Other creditable performances came from Immaculate High, winners of the Class Four 4x150 and 4x300m relays; Morant Bay girls, which won the Class Two 4x600m thanks to Jody-Ann Gordon's brilliant anchor leg; and Yallahs' boys, champions in the Class Three 4x600m.
