LONDON (CMC) - Reigning World 100-metre champion Kim Collins, of St Kitts and Nevis, is predicting that the US sprint domination in international track and field is coming to an end. Collins, 28, is one of several non-Americans aiming for sprint gold at the Athens Olympics this summer. "US track domination is coming to an end, and the Caribbean will win a clean sweep of medals in the Athens Olympics this summer," Collins said. He identified himself, Trinidad and Tobago's Ato Boldon and Darrel Brown and Jamaica's Usain Bolt as potential medallists, saying: "It's just a matter of giving us a chance to shine". Last year in Paris, Collins sped to 100-metre gold and became the first runner ever outside of the USA, Canada, and Britain to win the event at the IAAF World Championship. The USA had won six of the previous eight World Championship 100-metre titles - Carl Lewis and Maurice Greene winning three titles each, while Jamaica-born sprinters Donovan Bailey (Canada) and Linford Christie (Britain) took the other two titles. Americans have won seven of the last 10 sprints (100 and 200 metres) at the Olympic Games.
