Jockeys suspended by stewards

The following disciplinary actions arose out of inquiries held at the Jamaica Racing Commission .

Jockey Dane Nelson who rode Mission Accomplish in the 12th race on Saturday, February 12, 2005 was suspended for two racedays for the interference caused to Royal Flush and Princess Bianca at the 700 metre point and to Royal Control and Jessica approaching the 300 metre point. Nelson's suspension takes effect on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Apprentice Patrick Henry Jr who rode Samfie in the 12th race on Saturday, February 12, 2005 was suspended for two racedays for the interference caused to Royal Control shortly after the start. This suspension takes effect on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Ameth Robles who rode Rastamania in the ninth race on Saturday, January 29, 2005 was fined $2,000 for improper use of the whip.

Horses claimed

Two claims took place on last Wednesday's 11-race programme at Caymanas Park.

Crimson Magic was claimed by trainer Lawrence Freemantle for owner Andre Chai for $260,000; and Asynjur was claimed by trainer Patrick Fong for owner Leroy Williams for $250,000 from the 10th race.

First-time runners

Six horses will start their racing careers on tomorrow's 11-race programme at Caymanas Park.

They are Informacy, a three-year-old bay filly by Category - Intentional by Exceptional, trained by Rowan Mathie; Beyond Brilliant, a three-year-old chestnut colt by Law Of The Sea - Donna's Aloma by Regal Decision, trained by Garrett Arscott and Al's Jewel, a three-year-old bay filly by Al's River Cat - Jewel Garden by Slip Anchor, trained by Richard Todd in the fourth race.

Straight Poker, a three-year-old bay filly by Way West - Devine Delight by Lord Avie, trained by Donald McKenzie; California Valley, a five-year-old dark bay mare by Arch - Promised Legacy by Procida, trained by Ivan Smith in the fifth race.

Quizas Oro, a four-year-old bay colt by Category - Muchacha Favorita by Slick Trick, trained by Noel Ennevor in the eighth race.
