ASHLEY.least celebrated in her own land

The Sports Editor

Alicia Ashley has once again grabbed the boxing world in her hands. One of Jamaica's best athletes is also one of the least celebrated in her own land. However, that fact doesn't stop her from celebrating her heritage and culture. It doesn't stop her from wearing the Jamaican flag with pride in every battle no matter the outcome.

Her battles have taken her from Las Vegas to Argentina, from Atlantic City to Aruba, from Canada to Austria. Let all challengers throw down the gauntlet, none shall be refused.
Few fights have not gone her way, but grace, determination, power, and brains have gained this five foot five sexily muscled beauty her three title belts. The latest one, taken on a battlefield in Stuttgart, Germany, gained her the belt for the European title! She also became the first woman to be named fighter of the month twice in the same year.

Alicia came from the streets of Vinyard Town in Kingston, Jamaica. A long history and family tradition of athletic, physical and mental competition has followed her from Kingston to New York City. Alicia trains out of Gleason's gym in Brooklyn, NY, where she lived for many years and is trained by Hector Roca of Million dollar baby fame.

Alicia's desire to always stretch herself has led this Jamaican beauty to acting, choreography and stuntwork on TV and the big screen. You can catch her from Big screen appearances in Girl Fight to Law and Order. Watch out world, Alicia is coming to a venue near you and she's hitting harder and stronger than ever before.
