Tivoli crush Wadadah 4-0
Football - Wray & Nephew NPL
Livingston Scott
Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Tivoli scored four first half goals to defeat strugglers Wadadah 4-0 in their National Premeir League (NPL) game at Edward Seaga stadium on Sunday.

Christopher Jackson (9th), Nicholas McCreath (13th), Horace Howell (29th) and Christopher Nicholas (penalty, 43rd), were the scorers for the home team.

Winning coach Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey said his team suffered a devastating loss to Waterhouse last Sunday, in the effort to close the gap, on leaders Harbour View, they knew they had to put in a sterling performance to ensure three points.

"The loss to Waterhouse threw us off, but with this win we are back on track," he said.
The game was just nine minutes old, when Jackson beat Gavin Barrett with a curling freekick from outside the area. Four minutes later, they were 2-0 down as McCreath slotted home from eight yards.

Tivoli were having their way with the visitors and just before the half-hour mark Howell made it 3-0, heading home Nicholas' cross.

Two minutes before the break, Nicholas added one of his own from the penalty spot making it 4-0 after Jermaine Taylor was brought down inside the area.

Tivoli wasted a number of opportunities to increase their lead early in the second half, as Howell, McCreath, Oraine Simpson and Roland Dean all failed to make use of good scoring chances.

Wadadah looked more competitive in the second period and did have two chances to pull a goal back at the end, but neither Andre Reid nor Zico Herrera could beat Leon Gordon in the Tivoli goal.

Wadadah's stand-in coach, Allan Aarons said his team's poor first half display gave them no chances. "I am not sure what happened, but we made some simple mistakes in the first half that cost us the game," he said.
