World Cup tickets go on sale May 1
Cricket - CWC 2007

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Application for tickets to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 will officially go on sale online by May 1. This was announced at the conference room of the Jamaica Cricket 2007 Limited, the Local Organising Committee (LOC), at 11a-15 Oxford Road, New Kingston, yesterday.

Commercial manager for Jamaica LOC, Roxanne Morris, advised that phase one of public ticketing will start the following day after online sales begin.

"Public tickets go on sale as of May 1 and this will be online when applications can be made from 12:00 am," said Morris. "On May 2, all ticketing centres across the region, that's the nine host countries across the region, will be opened."

But the issuing of a ticket to an applicant will not be automatic, as all applications will be processed up to July 31, with online applicants receiving an email comfirmation. Applicants at the ticket centres must retain their receipts as proof of purchase.

By August 31, letters confirming tickets allocation will be sent out to respective persons or groups.
"During this phase everyone has an equal opportunity," she said.
The price for single tickets range from US$10 to US$40 for warm-up matches.

For the Opening Ceremony, the price ranges from US$50 to US$120, and for first-round group matches, prices range from US$25 to US$90. The semi-final falls between US$50 and US$130.

Should tickets remain after August 31, organisers will moved into phase two, where tickets will be sold on a "first come, first served basis", which starts September 1 and continues to November 30.

Payment will be accepted online via VISA and Mastercard, while cash, debit or credit cards will be accepted from those using the ticket centres.
The ticket centre in Jamaica will be located at Shop 51-52 in the Kingston Mall at the corner of Orange Street and Ocean Boulevard.
