Observer Reporter
Thursday, July 20, 2006

MONTEGO BAY - Defending champions Reggae Kids got the defence of the St James Football Association's DB&G Under-13 title off to a brilliant start after coming from behind to beat Seba Youths, 8-2, in the opening game at the UDC Field on Tuesday.

Three players - Curtis Taylor, Randy Myrie and Michael Allen - scored two goals each, while Oneil Robinson and Remone Samuels accounted for one a piece.

Sean-Alex McFarlane, who scored the opening goal of the season when he powered home from close range, and Husani Walker, scored for Seba Youths.

In the second game, Steve Bucknor's Academy blanked Club Stars 8-0, thanks to a hat-trick from Daniel Foote.

Tavan Davis got a brace while Ondane Irons, Armando Brown, Alex Smith and Anthony Walker got a goal each.

Eight teams are taking part in the league that was sponsored to the tune of $219,000 and is expected to run for about one month.

Three other youth leagues - the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 - are expected to start next week, the Observer understands.
