Anthony Findlay copped the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Celebrity Golf Tournament on the lush Half Moon's par-72 course yesterday, as the second day of the inaugural four-day Jamaica Cricket Festival of Stars came to a close.
Using the Stableford scoring system, Findlay finished on top with 40 points to claim the title plus a 36-inch flat screen television, courtesy of Courts Jamaica Ltd. However, it was Ian Salisbury, a member of the Half Moon Lashings World XI side, who starred on the day. The Englishman picked up three awards for his efforts in putting 'Closet to the Pin', having the 'Longest Drive' and finishing second in the Men's 10-18 flight, behind countryman Chris Adams.
Adams (37 points) finished four points ahead of Salisbury, in the Digicel-sponsored category. Meantime, Cedric Stewart (38 points) took home a MiPhone Kyocera Xcursion mobile phone for winning the Men's flight 19+, well ahead of Peter Komposch, 33 points.
In the Men's 0-9 flight, Dave Lyn (32) beat Peter Chin (30) in winning a MiPhone mobile. The Women's Open title went to Marguerite Cremin, who walked away with a weekend for two at luxurious Half Moon Resort and a Pulsar gold watch courtesy of Bijoux Jewellers.
