Boys' Town Football Club was the recipient of a Dell Computer from Advantage General Insurance at the company's Trafalgar Road Head Office recently.

The donation is part of the company's commitment to community development and will see both parties working closely to enhance the club's administrative and management system.

Sandra Letts, marketing manager of Advantage General Insurance Company, made the presentation to Boys' Town Football Club's technical director, Andrew Price, and Clive Reid, director of marketing.

Speaking at the end of the presentation, Letts said: "I was impressed with the positive strides that Boys' Town Football Club wanted to take and therefore without hesitation Advantage General was pleased to provide the computer."

Price, in his response, thanked Advantage General for the donation, noting that one of the mandates of the club's new restructuring and strategic plan ahead of the 2007-2008 start of a the National Premier League (NPL) football season, is to centralise the affairs of the club, as well as foster the communication between the executive, the club fraternity and members of the community.

The Boys' Town Institution began in 1940 by the Reverend Father Hugh Sherlock as a joint project of the Adventist Church and the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).
Based in the inner-city community of Trench Town, Boys' Town is an inspiration for many of the young persons in the community, which has produced international reggae icon, Bob Marley; West Indian batsman, Collie Smith; reggae artistes, Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles; along with Carl Brown, former national player and coach; among several other outstanding stalwarts in the fields of sports, music, commerce, industry and other professions.
