STETHS Invitational on today

Saturday, January 26, 2008

ALPART and IN SEASON Juices are the main sponsors of the 21st STETHS Invitational athletics meet which will be held at Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth today.

The meet is one of the official JAAA-recognised events that will carry added significance this year based on the proximity to the scheduled date of the National School Championships scheduled for March 12-15.

Schools expected to participate include defending girls' champion Holmwood, defending boys' champion Kingston College, Manchester High, Edwin Allen, Herbert Morrison, Munro, Wolmer's Boys, Wolmer's Girls, Vere Technical and Mannings among others.

Top individual athletes likely to participate include Dexter Lee, Darien Bent, Ronaldo Reid, Shavine Hodges, Petra Fanty, Peta Gaye Reid, Dura Levy and Shana-Gaye Tracey.

The STETHS track and field meet has been upgraded in recent years and should provide competitive times for the hundreds of athletes expected.

ALPART has been a traditional sponsor of the meet and will provide individual class event trophies, medals and relay prizes.

The meet is scheduled to start at 9:00 am.
